What is your position title and what are your job responsibilities.
Assistant Research
Scientist-
Intervention Coordinator Trial of Activity of Adolescent Girls, Adequate
Calcium Today Projects Coordinate all aspects of the grants of physical
education, health education, and programs for physical education to include
curriculum development, teacher training, lesson support, and staff developments.
Principal Investigator- Pyramid Power
Designed intervention and teacher training to include shift from game-based
physical education program to program based on physical activity pyramid
including lifestyle activities, aerobic activities, aerobic sports, muscular
endurance and flexibility. PE units include rollerblading, golf, step
aerobics, kickboxing, jump rope, frisbee games, lacrosse, pickleball,
yoga, resistance balls and more.
2) How did you prepare for the work you do? What
did you major in? Do you have a graduate degree? Any other special training
or experience that helped?
I majored in physical
education and health and minored in Spanish and recreation. I was a physical
educator grades K-8 for 20 years before moving to the university. Received
a M.Ed. in Secondary Education with a physical education emphasis. I am
a Physical Best Instructor and have my bilingual endorsement.

Any recommendations to students interested in the kind of work you do?
This position requires
creativity to develop new programs and ideas and flexibility to work in
the schools.
