Understanding Yourself
Stop and think about it. When is the last time you actually sat down and thought about your interests or wrote them down? It seems simple but the exercise of identifying what really interests you is a crucial first step in this process. Here are some helpful ways you can do this: First, take the inventories on DISCOVER. What are some of the career areas that were suggested based on your interests, abilities and values results:
You can click on any of these areas in your Summary page and information about that area, including related jobs and the education and training needed to pursue that field. Spend some time exploring and keep an open mind. You are just beginning and it's important to remember that you are gathering information that can be analyzed later in the process.
