The Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) Major

 

What is the Process for Applying for the IDS Major?

       1.   Meet with an advisor in University College (ILC Room 103) to discuss your interest in the major and review the requirements.

       2.   Draft a proposal statement (see instructions) and select 7-10 courses within each discipline that you would like to include in your program of study.
              We suggest reviewing course requirements with each department advisor.

       3.   Meet with an advisor in University College to review your proposal.

       4.   When ready, complete the application and get the necessary department advisor signatures indicating approval of and permission to take the planned courses.

       5.   Submit completed proposal, application, and an up-to-date copy of your transcript to University College. Allow 4-6 weeks for processing.
