Advisors at University
College help students as they make important decisions related to their
academic progress at the University. Below we've outlined some guidelines
to help you understand how this partnership works and to make the most
of your advising experiences.

Student-Athletes
in University College or the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
Advisors
will:

assist you in the
major exploration process by helping
you identify your interests, values, skills and personality traits and
use those to guide you to appropriate majors

review university
policies and procedures and other important information with you
that could significantly impact your degree program

approve the application
of transfer credits (as well as AP, IB and CLEP) to your general education
requirements

refer you to the
right source at UA if you have questions or concerns not related to
academic advising
-
scheduling your own appointment and for arriving on time for the
appointment
- bringing your Student
Academic Progress Report (SAPR) with you. You can access it on Student
Link. It contains your graduation requirements, course work completed,
remaining requirements and other important information about your academic
program.
- completing any "homework" assigned as part of the major exploration process and following
up with your advisor afterwards.
When
should you see your advisor?
University School
advisors want to see all their students at least once each semester.
While you are working to decide a major, we encourage you to seek advising
more frequently.
